Which supplier pays you more?

Same blank, same selling price, every supplier that carries it.

Costs pulled directly from supplier APIs. Last refreshed , and refreshed again on the first of every month.

Where a supplier's API reports free US shipping I show it as free, because that is what they publish. I refresh these figures monthly, but shipping terms can change between refreshes, so it is always worth confirming against your own supplier account before you price a product.

Printify cost depends on which print provider fulfils the order, and their API publishes no prices at all, so Printify rows are manually checked snapshots rather than live figures. Rows marked check are overdue a re-verify. Printify Choice can also reassign your order to a different provider automatically, so confirm the price in your own account.

What This Calculator Includes

Most Etsy calculators ask what your product costs and leave you to find that out somewhere else. This one already knows, because it reads the same supplier price data I refresh on the first of every month.

  • Supplier cost and shipping, filled in for you from Printful, Printify and Teelaunch. Override them with your own at any time.
  • The $0.20 listing fee, charged on every sale.
  • The 6.5% transaction fee, which Etsy applies to your item price plus the shipping you charge.
  • Payment processing, 3% plus $0.25 for US sellers on Etsy Payments, or PayPal if you use it.
  • Etsy Ads spend attributed to the order.
  • Offsite Ads at both 15% and 12%, because the rate depends on whether your shop has passed $10,000 in the last 365 days.
  • Discounts, as a dollar amount or a percentage.

It also shows you which supplier nets you the most on the same product, which is the part most tools leave out entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Etsy take from a $100 sale?

$9.95, made up of the $0.20 listing fee, $6.50 transaction fee and $3.25 payment processing. If the sale came through Offsite Ads it is $24.95. There is a full breakdown in how much Etsy takes from a $100 sale.

Can I avoid fees by charging for shipping separately?

No. Etsy’s 6.5% transaction fee applies to your item price plus the shipping you charge, and payment processing applies to the order total. A $90 item with $10 shipping and a $100 item with free shipping cost you identical fees. Free shipping usually ranks better in search, so it tends to be the better of the two.

Do I have to use Offsite Ads?

Under $10,000 in sales over the prior 365 days you can opt out. Once you cross that threshold you are enrolled for the lifetime of the shop and cannot opt out again, though the rate drops from 15% to 12%. Set the calculator to whichever applies to you.

Are these supplier prices current?

They refresh on the first of every month. Printful and Teelaunch come straight from their APIs, Printify is checked by hand because their API publishes no prices. The date they were last verified is shown under the comparison table.

What is not included?

Sales tax, which Etsy collects and remits for you in most places, and which the 6.5% transaction fee does not apply to for US sellers. Also currency conversion if you list in a currency other than your payment account, and the $0.20 you pay to renew listings that have not sold.

Work Out the Rest of It

What print on demand actually costs has the full supplier price tables. Is Printify free covers what Printify charges and when Premium starts paying for itself. Selling on Shopify as well? There is a Shopify version of this calculator.
